Zocalo, Centre D’Artistes En Art Imprimé

Artist-Run Centres / Galleries

Description

Zocalo’s artistic vision revolves around the notions of exploration, research and innovation in printed arts. Linked to these notions are the concepts of technique and progress which, from a central position, question artisanal production while allowing an accumulation of contemporary knowledge. The concept of hybridity, for example, is among its preferred devices for transforming traditional practices and thoughts attached to printed art, in order to offer a crossroads where different disciplines and different sectors come together. The center thus promotes projects which examine and question printing techniques (traditional, digital, hybrid), printing supports (paper, fabrics, metal, etc.), modes of dissemination (ephemeral exhibitions on strings). laundry, on water, etc.) as well as the modes of creation (co-creation, intergenerational twinning, didactic exchanges, etc.).
