This website is designed to help you explore and discover the Canadian art scene. There's so much to see and experience if you know where to look. canadianartmap.com is a one stop overview of Canadian art venues, sites and events—conceived to help you explore new paths, expand awareness and cultivate enjoyment of Canadian art, artists, and culture.
canadianartmap.com works in tandem with Google Maps as a directional guide. Unique place-markers locate art museums, public and commercial art galleries, artist-run centres, corporate art collections, sculpture gardens, art fairs, and artists' studios. Tapping on a marker opens a pop-up window with the name and address of the venue or site, a brief description, contact information, a website link, and a directions link.
The Listings page lists venues, sites and events identified on the art maps. The listings are organized by province, and catalogued by type of venue, site or event to help you find places and activities that match your interests. The listings are linked back to the maps to help you navigate to destinations of interest. You can also use them alongside Google "My Maps"—a web-based mapping service that allows users to create custom maps and personalized travel itineraries.
A selection of curated itineraries and tours are also available. They include one day and two day excursions, walking tours and road trips to popular and off-the-beaten-path locations. You can easily adapt them to work with personal travel plans and schedules. Each itinerary includes recommendations for local eateries and restaurants, hip cafés, boutique accommodations, hot spots, scenic stops, and rest stops. Itineraries will continue to be added and expanded.
Take your time, look around. Drop me a line if you like.
Enjoy your Canadian art adventures!
