University of Waterloo Art Galleries

Art Galleries / Museums (Public)

Description

The University of Waterloo Art Gallery (UWAG) was founded in 1974 and is located in East Campus Hall 1239 adjacent to the Fine Arts department. The gallery motto ADMIT EVERYONE speaks to an openness where artists mix with students, faculty, as well as diverse members of the creative community from across the region. The gallery operates as a social hub that hosts a thoughtful, dynamic, and engaging program of exhibitions, artist presentations, and events featuring the work of emerging and mid-career Canadian and international artists, as well as hosting Fine Arts annual fourth year undergraduate exhibition and multiple MFA Thesis exhibitions.
