The Seymour Art Gallery Society

Art Galleries / Museums (Public)

Description

Seymour Art Gallery, established 1985, is a non-profit public gallery in the heart of Deep Cove, North Vancouver and the only public gallery located in the District of North Vancouver. Seymour Art Gallery recognizes that art is an essential part of the human experience. We welcome more than 26,000 visitors yearly to our gallery, Gallery Shop, and special events. Along with a busy exhibition schedule, we present performance events — including music, artist demonstrations, interactive artmaking, and events for children. The Seymour Art Gallery establishes a high standard in our balanced program of visual and performing arts. The gallery also plays an educational role, by organizing programs for schools and activities for the public in conjunction with our exhibitions.

Visitor Access

In Canada, many small to mid-sized public art galleries, artist-run centres and museums offer free admission, with larger institutions often providing discounts or designated free-access times for youth, students, seniors, and others. Commercial galleries are generally free to enter, while outdoor sculpture parks and sites typically offer year-round access, encouraging informal public engagement with art in open-air settings.
