Description

I-Hos Gallery presents a collection of traditional and contemporary Northwest Coast artwork produced by First Nations artists. I-Hos Gallery is Band owned and operated by K’omoks First Nation. Our culture is expressed through our art. We are located between Courtenay and Comox on Vancouver Island, on the site of the original K’omoks Village. We deal directly with all of our First Nation artists and provide you with all legends and artist biographies. I-Hos Gallery is Band owned and operated by K’omoks First Nations and has been est. since 1995. Join us for a cultural experience in our traditional Northwest Coast Big House. We offer cultural teachings, sharing, storytelling, and interactive activities, as well as a traditional Northwest Coast Dance presentation performed by our very own Kumugwe Dance Troupe in their full regalia. Kumugwe perform dances such as the Ladies dance, the Peace dance, and mask dances such as the Grizzly Bear dance, the Transformation dance, the Wolf dance, and many more. All performances are accompanied by our traditional drummers and singers. Our cultural presentations are about one hour long and are available in the evenings and on the weekends. Please contact us to discuss the fee for our cultural presentation which includes entrance for up to 300 guests in our ceremonial Big House.
