Description
Founded in 1986, the gallery was originally named for its views of beautiful Port Credit Harbour. When owner Jackie Bryant purchased the gallery in 1989, and subsequently relocated the business when it outgrew its original space, the name was kept to honour the gallery’s roots. Currently located in a 4,700 square foot custom-built exhibition space in the village of Clarkson, Harbour Gallery serves the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. Today the gallery is one of the largest in Canada and represents some of the nation’s most celebrated contemporary artists. Modern and contemporary art were born from the exploration of new artistic traditions that began in the late 19th century and continue today. Harbour Gallery upholds these traditions by promoting a varied roster of media that includes painting, sculpture, photography, and printmaking. Harbour Gallery aims to contribute to the vibrancy and complexity of the modern and contemporary art market in Canada. It represents and supports professional artists with a range of experience—15 to 60 years—and takes careful steps to safeguard the value of unique, original works.
