Galerie De Bellefeuille III

Art Galleries (Commercial)

Description

Galerie de Bellefeuille has been named one of the best galleries in the world by Modern Painters two years running. Throughout thirty-nine years of operation, the Bellefeuille’s (Helen and Jacques Bellefeuille) have always been keen to highlight internationally acclaimed artists. The gallery is proud to have had many firsts within the Canadian art milieu. Galerie de Bellefeuille held the first Canadian Solo exhibition of American pop artist Jim Dine, the first solo exhibition of acclaimed English sculptor Nicola Hicks, the first solo exhibition of reputed English sculptor Sophie Ryder, the first Quebec exhibition of glass sculptor Dale Chihuly and more recently the first Canadian Solo exhibition for Mel Bochner! In addition, the gallery offers works by many international acclaimed artists such as Eric Fischl, Damien Hirst, Patrick Hughes, Wolf Kahn, Julian Opie, Robert Polidori, Patrick Rubinstein, Hunt Slonem, and Jane Waterous to name a few. Now in its fourth decade of operation and offering a total of 27,000 square feet of exhibition space—with 3 exhibition spaces in Montreal and one in Toronto—Galerie de Bellefeuille is unparalleled in Canada.
