At ELLEPHANT, we curate encounters with digital, video, installation, kinetic, robotic, DIY, VR, AR, AI, textiles, immersive and interactive art forms. ELLEPHANT is a place where contemporary art, technology and poetry meet. Wesupport and advocate for the acquisition of postdigital, gender-inclusive, postcolonial, feminist art. We curate encounters with analog, digital, video, installation, kinetic, robotic, DIY, VR, AR, AI, textiles, immersive and interactive art forms. Work by our artists are in the collections of the Smithsonian, Saint-Louis Art Museum, Peabody Essex Museum, National Gallery of Canada, Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Indigenous Art Centre, Ville de Montréal, Hydro-Québec, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, National Bank of Canada, Equitable Bank, Munich Re, Global Affairs, The Carl & Marilynn Thoma Art Foundation and the Eiteljorg Museum, amongst others. Located on Peace Park, in the heart of Montreal’s former red-light district, ELLEPHANT is part of Montreal’s celebrated cultural sector, the Quartier des spectacles. ELLEPHANT is a member of the Association of Contemporary Art Galleries.
