The Léo-Ayotte Exhibition Center annually hosts exhibitions by professional contemporary artists in its two rooms at the Arts Center, as well as scientific, heritage and educational exhibitions. The gallery is located Culture Shawinigan, an independent non-profit organization, and one of the main players in the arts and culture sector in Mauricie. Culture Shawinigan supports the arts, literature, and culture in its territory, and promotes the cohesion necessary for their sustainable development. A major player and presenter of the performing and visual arts, known for its quality artistic and cultural programming. / Baptisé en l’honneur d’un grand peintre figuratif né à Sainte-Flore, le Centre d’exposition Léo-Ayotte participe au rayonnement des arts visuels à Shawinigan. Chaque année, il accueille dans ses deux salles du Centre des arts plusieurs expositions d’artistes professionnels en art contemporain, ainsi que des expositions à caractère scientifique, patrimonial ou éducatif. Culture Shawinigan – dont le nom légal est Corporation culturelle de Shawinigan – a été créé en 2004, à la suite de la première politique culturelle de la Ville de Shawinigan. Organisme autonome à but non lucratif, il est l’un des principaux acteurs du secteur des arts et de la culture en Mauricie. Son mandat? Assurer sur son territoire le soutien aux arts, aux lettres et à la culture, ainsi que favoriser la cohésion nécessaire pour leur développement durable. Diffuseur majeur reconnu en arts de la scène et en arts visuels, Culture Shawinigan intervient aussi dans les secteurs du patrimoine et de la médiation culturelle.
