Description

The Art Gallery of Algoma (AGA) is the only collecting public art gallery located between Thunder Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. Since its foundation, the AGA has built an impressive Permanent Collection of approximately 5000 artworks, which includes paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, installation works and the decorative arts. The collection continues to grow, maintaining a focus on Canadian and regional contemporary art, and including works by artists such as Carl Beam, Franklin Carmichael, AJ Casson, AY Jackson, JEH MacDonald, Norval Morrisseau, FH Varley, Jack Bush, Rita Letendre, Edward Steichen, Barbara Hepworth, Robert Motherwell and more.
