Description

Heritage is an important source of identity for those living in a minority situation, the Musée acadien de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard seeks to create greater awareness and pride among Island Acadians about their history, culture and French language, thereby contributing to the survival and development of the Acadian people of Prince Edward Island. The museums activities include: acquisition, cataloging and preservation of artifacts; presentation of a permanent exhibit and a video on the history of the Acadians of Prince Edward Island; production and set up of temporary exhibits on various aspects of the Prince Edward Island Acadian culture and heritage; community programming such as exhibit openings, conferences and concerts; annual events such as Tuesday Talks, Christmas at the Museum, various activities during Heritage Week and French Awareness Week; and school programming for Island students.
