Canadian Art Map is a web-based platform that bridges the gap between traditional websites and native apps. Rather than relying on a conventional app download, it uses Progressive Web App (PWA — add to your home screen, no app store) technology to keep the experience open, accessible, and seamless across devices.
Explore and deepen your appreciation of Canadian art by connecting with the rich diversity of artists, art venues, and creative activity across Canada.
App-like experience, no app store
How it works:
Android: Use the browser prompt or menu
iPhone / iPad: Open in Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen
The visual arts have long shaped how I see and experience the world—sparking curiosity, reflection, and a deeper sense of connection.
One of the central motivations behind creating Canadian Art Map is to encourage people to get out and experience that sense of curiosity and discovery for themselves. I want people to encounter Canadian artists, galleries, museums, cultural sites, and public art—simply because engaging with art can make life richer and more meaningful.
I’ve worked in the arts since the early 1980s as a curator, gallery director, designer, and publisher, organizing exhibitions and events and collaborating with artists and arts organizations across Canada.
This site brings those experiences together in an independent, community-focused resource. While it includes limited advertising and listings that help cover costs, Canadian Art Map remains dedicated to supporting and celebrating the arts in Canada.
