About

Welcome to canadianartmap.com, your guide to exploring Canadian art and culture. Whether you’re abroad and planning a trip to Canada, or exploring your Province or home town, I invite you to browse our curated listings, itineraries, and maps to find inspiration and connect with the stories that artists and art institutions share.

CanadianArtMap.com is both a desk-top and mobile friendly way-finding guide designed to help travellers and art lovers explore new paths, expand awareness, and cultivate enjoyment of the Canadian art scene, artists, and culture. You can use the maps to discover local, regional and national galleries, museums and art activities. Browse the listings in advance of a trip to create personalized itineraries, or check out what’s happening across the country from the comfort of your living room. The listings are organized by province and categorized by venue type, site, and event, making it easier to find places and activities that match your interests.

A selection of curated Art Itineraries and Tours are also available. They include two-day, three-day, and four-day excursions—as well as walking tours, and road trips to popular and off-the-beaten-path locations. The itineraries also include recommendations for local eateries, restaurants, cafés, accommodations, hot spots, scenic stops, and rest stops.

CanadianArtMap.com uses Google Maps with distinctive markers that identify art destinations—museums, public and commercial galleries, artist-run centres, cultural centres, corporate art collections, sculpture gardens, art fairs, artists’ studios, and no fixed address art projects. Tapping a marker opens a pop-up window that displays the venue’s name, address, description, contact details, website link, and Google Map directions.

To zoom or pan around a map on a mobile phone or tablet use two finger movements (thumb and index finger). Single finger movements will scroll the page. On desktops the gesture handling is carried out by the mouse.

Tap the ‘VIEW LISTING’ button to access a full-page profile of a venue. Each full-page profile includes a detailed description, contact and business information, a street-level map, a ‘Get Directions’ button, and more. Premium listings feature up-to-date program details, images, and social media links.

Google Maps provides driving, walking, biking, and public transit directions between locations. You can mark your location on a map and Google will give you directions to your destination based on real-time traffic conditions, offering multiple options and estimated travel times.

I hope you’ll find this site helpful. I’d greatly appreciate your support in spreading the word about CanadianArtMap.com. Feel free to post links to this site on your favourite social media platforms.
