Founded with the conviction that living transcultural artistic experiences contribute to the betterment of humankind, OBORO* is an artist-run centre that favors the development of art practices locally, nationally, and internationally. OBORO’s sphere of activity encompasses visual and media arts, performing arts, new technologies, and emerging practices. OBORO’s more specific mandate is to support creation in various cultural practices; to encourage innovation, experimentation, the exchange of ideas, and the sharing of knowledge. OBORO’s objective is to promote awareness and dialogue within the art world and society at large and to contribute to a culture of peace. Fondé avec la conviction que l’expérience artistique transculturelle vivante contribue au mieux-être de l’humanité, OBORO* est un centre d’artistes qui favorise le développement des pratiques artistiques sur la scène locale, nationale et internationale. Le champ d’action d’OBORO couvre les arts visuels et médiatiques, les nouvelles technologies, les arts des nouvelles scènes et les pratiques émergentes. OBORO s’est donné le mandat plus spécifique de soutenir la création issue de diverses pratiques culturelles; d’encourager l’innovation, l’expérimentation, l’échange d’idées et le partage du savoir.
