Description
Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum is a registered charity that cares for a collection of artwork, tools, archival documents, photographs, and resource books centred on the local community of Iqaluit and the Qikiqtani region. The physical space, which shows the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions, is located in the beach neighbourhood of Iqaluit in an old Hudson’s Bay Company warehouse building with a distinct red roof. Visitors will see an overview exhibition in our permanent gallery highlighting pieces from the Museum collection. A temporary gallery space with changing exhibitions. A second floor with permanent collection pieces highlighting the different carvings of the regional communities. We have a gift shop of art, jewellery, books, music, etc. We routinely show the Kinngait Print Collection in October.
