Description
The Founders’ Gallery at The Military Museums in Calgary was initially formed as a public exhibition space with the goal of contributing to Canadians understanding of their military experience by displaying historic and contemporary works of art and related artifacts. In 2012, the University of Calgary assumed programming and administrative responsibilities of the gallery. The gallery’s mandate is now to explore human conflict worldwide through projects by local, international, historic, and contemporary artists that challenge viewers’ knowledge of and interaction with war. The 4,000 square foot Class A gallery space hosts a minimum of 3 exhibitions a year.
